Amalini & Jarrod's Backyard Fiesta
This was a backyard shindig in Rye on the Mornington Peninsula bursting with culture
Amalini and Jarrod called me up, quite last minute wanting their backyard ceremony photographed. It was going to be an afternoon spent with friends and family, celebrating the official marriage of the two.
Later that month they had a grander wedding planned, a complete cultural amalgamation of both Jarrod and Amalini's families culture, however they wanted their ceremony to be low-key, unashamedly private. With the help of their celebrant Zena, it was exactly that. Private, funny, emotional and every bit sweet.
Their marriage happened under Jarrod's Chuppah, or wedding canopy as they're known. It was his grandfathers who had endearingly been passed down to Jarrod and had been there throughout all of his lifes many important moments. In true Mornington Peninsula backyard style, it was strung between Tee Tree branches and provided them some shade on what was a hot summers day.
There are so many beautiful, emotional moments captured throughout their ceremony and afterwards when everyone was in loving embrace.
