Cate & Nathan's Intimate Winter Wedding at Port Phillip Estate

Where love finds warmth amidst the crisp winter air.

The crisp air of a Mornington Peninsula winter swirled around Port Phillip Estate on June 28th. Inside, however, hearts were ablaze with warmth as Cate and Nathan celebrated their love story with an intimate winter wedding. Gone were the grand ballrooms and endless guest lists – this day was all about creating a haven that reflected their passions: good company, exceptional food and wine, and the breathtaking beauty of the Australian landscape and seascape.

The lovely bride Cate, a vision in a Lily Marks gown, with hair and makeup by Michelle O’Connell, stole the show. While the dashing groom Nathan, looking dapper in a suit by THEODORE, gave her a run for her money. Their rings, from Bryant Family Jewellers, glinted under the soft candlelight as they exchanged heartfelt vows in a ceremony officiated by a celebrant. The gentle melodies of We Are Paper Hearts provided the perfect soundtrack to this heartwarming moment.

Port Phillip Estate itself became a character in their story. This architectural marvel, a fusion of food, wine, and modern design, offered panoramic views of the rolling vineyards and the distant coastline. It served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding portraits, capturing the essence of their love story amidst the beauty of nature. Native Australian florals – eucalyptus, baby’s breath, soft pinks, and pure whites – arranged by Millicent Green, added a touch of natural elegance.

As the celebration moved indoors, the focus shifted to the delectable delights. A stunning cake by Peninsula Cake Art took center stage, while a degustation menu, mirroring their New Zealand engagement experience, tantalized taste buds. We Are Paper Hearts kept the party lively with their acoustic tunes, ensuring the night flowed as smoothly as the estate's award-winning wines.

But amidst the festivities, Cate and Nathan never lost sight of what truly mattered. Throughout the day, they stole moments to savor the quiet whispers and shared laughter. This wedding wasn't about grand gestures; it was about creating a haven for their closest loved ones, a space to celebrate their love story in a way that felt authentically them. Their advice to other couples?  Keep it intimate, focus on what matters to you as a couple, and don't be afraid to break the mold. After all, the most beautiful weddings are the ones that reflect the love that binds two hearts together.
